A mosquito “song”, poetically described in literature, is a rather annoying mosquito squeal in everyday life, warning about a parasite insect that is unsafe for human and animal health. Summer gatherings in the fresh air can not do without their annoying ringing and rather unpleasant bites.

What is dangerous mosquito bites

Of the more than 3000 species of mosquitoes known to science, over 100 live in the Russian Federation. Male mosquitoes are harmless. They feed on plant sap. Females in the wet warm period are overactive. They are in a hurry to get high-energy food (blood glucose) to lay more healthy fetal eggs.

Female mosquitoes are the distributors of a number of diseases associated with the transmission of disease-causing viruses and bacteria when bitten.

Mosquitoes from countries with tropical and subtropical climates are carriers of a number of rather difficult and difficult to treat diseases: tularemia, malaria, amaryllosis (yellow fever), lymphatic filariasis (helminthic infestation of nematode filaria), and others. Diseases are usually transmitted through infected tourists who have gone on vacation in “hazardous” regions of morbidity.

How to protect your living space from mosquitoes

Of course, you can’t drive a mosquito away with a wave of your hand, and in popular recommendations there are many ways to get rid of annoying insects that interfere with a relaxing holiday. Basically, all the advice is related to breeding smoke fires in outdoor recreation areas with the addition of insecticidal branches for mosquitoes trees and bushes (preferably conifers). Near the house, near the recreation site, in the summer cottage, you can plant trees whose smell is unpleasant to insects - lilac, bird cherry, blackcurrant, walnut. Of the flowering and herbaceous, these include marigolds, lavender, matthiol, tomatoes, and especially feverfew, whose juice is poisonous to mosquitoes. In the house, arbors, open verandas, you can use aroma lamps or light bulbs. For personal protection, sprays, creams, various sprayers are available. But the effect of the above methods of salvation from annoying insects is very short-term, not always safe (allergy to smells, etc.) and requires regular monitoring.

A brief history of smoke spirals as mosquito repellents

Recently, mosquito repellents have found a demand in the form of devices that do not require constant monitoring - insecticidal lamps, mosquito expellers, mosquito repellers. Anti-mosquito devices in the form of a spiral are receiving more and more positive feedback on readers' forums, the basis of which was created using devices using mosquito repellents. The attention to mosquito coils was attracted by the possibility of protection against mosquito attacks not of an individual person, but of the whole company.

The first use of anti-mosquito drugs in the form of burning small sticks (prototype of spirals) formed from pyrethrum powders and dried tangerine peel mixed with starch dates back to the late 19th century (Japan). The duration of their burning was minimal and the effect was negligible. Later they began to burn a mixture of feverfew with sawdust in incense burners. The duration of burning the mixture with the release of mosquito-damaging smoke increased, but was inconvenient to use. And the smoke was unsafe for the health of others. Attempts to create an anti-mosquito, convenient for use in everyday life and safe for others means were successful only at the beginning of the 20th century. Pressed sticks of fillers, coiled up by a spiral, were made manually until 1957, when the mass production of a spiral-shaped repellent began using the machine-pressing method. The decay of densely pressed rods was long and was accompanied by the death of insects. The active ingredients that kill mosquitoes were pyrethrum powders, and later pyrethrins, allethrins, and other substances mixed and compressed with sawdust.

The first anti-mosquito fumigators needed to be controlled and carried a certain fire hazard (sparked during smoldering), and smoke was a threat to the health of others. Over the years, research has continued to find ways to use anti-mosquito drugs that are harmless to humans and animals, which have been crowned with success. Currently, fumigators have been developed that can work for a long time and during operation emit substances that adversely affect mosquitoes.

Fumigators produce electrical and pyrotechnic. An electric fumigator is a plastic container that is plugged into an outlet. A solid or liquid composition (fumigant) is placed in the container, which decomposes upon heating into substances that are life-threatening to insects. Unlike electric, the pyrotechnic fumigator does not need a heat source to decompose the fumigants. It is curved in the form of a spiral, which, when ignited, works independently.

Modern spirals "Clean House" - a quiet life without mosquitoes

Fumigator-repellent "Clean House" refers to the type of pyrotechnic fumigators. It is represented by a spiral of compressed wood flour with an active active ingredient (d-allethrin) and additives of flavorings, oxidizing agents and other neutral substances.

The spiral "Clean House" is very convenient, safe and effective to use. Designed for the mass destruction of mosquitoes and provides a comfortable outdoor vacation without spending time on its maintenance. For fumigation of the space around the resting spirals, additional devices are not needed, and protection against mosquitoes lasts from 7 to 10 hours.

The uniqueness of the product developed by the specialists of the Technoexport firm lies in the fact that the composition of the Clean House spirals, which have all the useful properties of fumigant smoke, when used correctly:

  • harmless to humans and pets,
  • It does not require additional sources of operation support, as in the electric version (container, sockets, electric wires, special composition of the liquid fumigant), or in the natural burning of wood waste (fires and smoke-generating spruce need for a fire, it is necessary to constantly be distracted and control the fire burning, smoke eats eyes )

At the same time, several pieces of fumigant spirals flat, small and light in weight practically do not take up space, but have several advantages:

  • when camping, they clean enough space from flying insects, and they destroy not only mosquitoes, but also other flying insects (midges, mosquitoes, etc.),
  • protect the whole company of vacationers at once,
  • do not cause discomfort from the use of acutely smelling agents, etc.

And the main advantage of the Clean House spirals is that they do not smoke (they belong to the ultra low smoke class). The odorless fumigant composition quickly spreads, closing tourists with an invisible and intangible dome. After 15-20 minutes, mosquitoes cease to disturb vacationers. One spiral is able to protect from bloodsuckers in an open space of 5 square meters. m square. Spirals are located at a distance of 1.0-1.5 m from vacationers. It is easy to calculate the number of practically weightless and such convenient “bonfires” that can be lit in the gazebo, on the veranda, and taken with you for fishing.

The spiral is mounted on a non-combustible stand and set on fire. An open fire is extinguished after a few seconds. The smoldering tip of the spiral begins its work. To extinguish the spiral, it is enough to gently break off its smoldering tip or sprinkle it with water.
