Baked Potato
Baked potatoes cooked according to this recipe are so delicious that they can be served not only as a side dish for a meat dish, but also as an independent hot snack. I do not like boiled potatoes, which, according to tradition, is wrapped in a dish with baked chicken or ham. Most often, the unfortunate potato remains unclaimed on the festive table, and the hosts deal with it the next day after the holiday on their own. Baked potatoes in this recipe are stuffed with fried onions in butter and aromatic seasonings. I met a similar baked potato recipe in cookbooks called American potatoes. In a word, if you decided to bake a whole chicken or turkey to the festive table, then be sure to supplement the dish with this recipe, guests will be grateful!

Peeling tubers is not necessary. Firstly, it turns out beautifully and appetizingly, and secondly, it is scientifically proven that there are a lot of useful microelements in the peel that are preserved during heat treatment.

Ingredients for making baked potatoes:
- 6 large potatoes;
- 200 g of onions;
- 50 g butter;
- 40 ml of olive oil;
- 50 g of grated cheese;
- dried thyme, dried carrots, paprika, pepper, salt.
The method of cooking baked potatoes in the oven
Potatoes should be specially selected for this baked potato recipe. We select large oblong tubers, without visible damage. If you cook a certain number of servings, I advise you to add a few extra potatoes, you never know what is inside.
Tubers thoroughly with a brush, peel not clean!
Put the potatoes in a deep pan, pour boiling water, cook for 20 minutes.

Cut a thin slice from the potato, then gently scrub the middle with a spoon so that there are walls about a centimeter thick. We make "boats" from all the potatoes.

Onion chop finely. Pour a tablespoon of olive oil into the pan, add cream, melt. Throw chopped onion into the melted butter, sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Cook the onion for 10-12 minutes, until it acquires a caramel color.

We chop the middle of the potatoes with a knife finely, add to the pan to the onion - this is the basis of our filling of baked potatoes.

Now season the baked potato filling - pour dried thyme, 2-3 teaspoons of dried carrot, paprika, salt to taste, mix well.

On a baking sheet with non-stick coating, pour the remaining olive oil, put the potato boats. We “stain” the boats in oil on all sides, so that when baked, a crisp turns out.

We fill the boats with the filling tightly, with our hands we form a small pea.

We heat the oven to 250 degrees. We send the baking sheet to the lower shelf. Bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle with grated cheese 5-7 minutes before cooking.

We serve hot potatoes to the table, this dish is eaten only hot! Enjoy your meal.

There are different combinations of products that can diversify the taste of baked potatoes - garlic and dill, garlic and thyme, onions and rosemary, sweet paprika and cheese, in a word, you can experiment indefinitely, but do not forget about the figure!
